EPG (electronic program guide) information code is transmitted on a predetermined channel, during set intervals in the vertical blanking gap, using a selected transmitter. Information is signaled for each of several transmitters in framing intervals of the respective transmitter. A controller switches on the analog receiver at a given point in time and tunes it to the given transmission channel. The EPG information is received, decoded and stored by the analogue receiver. It is then switched off by the controller. An Independent claim is included for the corresponding receiver.
