Floating sludge accumulates on the surface (17) of a fluid treatment basin, as a consequence of the processes. The sludge is skimmed off (12) towards a pivoting (8) inclined drainage tray (7). The tray (7) flips at intervals under the control of a drive unit (10) which regulated by the center of gravity of the tray and its contents. The tray (7) flips the sludge into a drainage channel (6).
