The adapter has at least one bearer rail (11) for mounting and/or fixing electrical fittings. Each bearer rail has guide arms and latching arrangements for locking the bearer rails with respect to the adapter, which has latching teeth on guide rail (11) edges facing in opposite directions. Each bearer rail has at least one cut-out in a wall above and below the guide rails, with a cam-shaped protrusion able to engage the latching teeth.
