Two profile bars (20,30) are joined by device (10), with one endface of bar (20) adjoining one long side of bar (30). This long side of bar (30) and the two opposing long sides of bar (20) have undercut grooves (32,22). The outside of a clamp (10) part matching the groove (22) of bar (20) can be inserted in this groove on the exterior of bar (20) and a screw (14) on or in clamp (12) can be screwed into the threaded part (16) in the groove (30) so as to spread the clamp (12) to engage in bar (20) groove (22) so as to clamp the two bars together (20,30).
