ATTENUATED POLIOVIRUS VACCINE

A vaccine comprising a poliovirus having a mutation in the protease 2A gene, said mutation being associated with a reduced temperature sensitivity as defined by a decrease in the ratio of the number of plaque-forming units obtained when the virus is grown at 39 DEG C to the number obtained at 35 DEG C in BGM cells. The vaccine can be live or inactivated.
