PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select a home mode/a public mode in a slave set and an at-home mode/stay-out mode in a master set automatically in the cordless telephone system consisting of a master set and a slave set. SOLUTION: When the slave set in the cordless telephone system set in a home mode or in a public mode, it can switch into the public mode or the home mode based on a reception level of a control signal from the master set. Furthermore, the slave set in the cordless telephone system which is in the standby state in the home mode transmits a prescribed control signal at a prescribed time interval so as to allow the master set to be switched into the at-home mode or the stay-out mode based on the prescribed control signal from the slave set.
