Method for repairing and producing an integrally bladed rotor for a hydraulic engine, wherein at least one blade section is removed in case of repair leaving behind a stub section (13) for welding a replacement blade section (20) and wherein a carrier that is to be fitted with blades has projecting stubs to weld on the blades in case of production, comprising the following steps in case of repair/ new blade provision: placing an inductor (16) around the front face of the stub section (14)/stub; positioning a replacement blade section (20)/a blade at a short radial distance from and aligned with the stub section/stub (14) and welding the replacement blade section (20), the stub being located in an protective gas atmosphere by exciting the inductor (16) with high frequency current and by joining the opposite heated partial surfaces.
