The device has a paint applicator (10) for each pencil jacket surface. The applicators are moved radially towards the jacket sections, and pencils and applicators are relatively turnable about the pencil axis. The pencils are moved by a guide unit with guide channels (1). The channel is formed by the central aperture in a disc (2), which has radial channels to contain the applicators.
