After threshing the straw is conveyed to the chaff cutter (1) where it is first guided over a shaking sieve (5) in order to remove the still remaining grains. Before it can fall onto the rotor (2,3) it has to pass between vertically positioned rubber or thin metal strips (7), which slow down the process of falling, resulting in an even distribution of straw. Blockages can be avoided.
