A pressure measuring system that is more accurate than the pressure sensor/transducer incorporated into the system. The system includes a pressure switch and a pressure sensor or transducer, each of which is operative to sense the pressure in a vessel, fluid line, or the like. The pressure switch has a preselected set point, such that when the pressure being sensed crosses the set point, the switch is triggered. Circuitry monitors the sensor and switch and when the switch is triggered the circuitry determines the error, if any, in the reading from the sensor, and corrects future readings from the sensor based upon the value of the calculated error.
