A cutter tool (1) such as a saw blade and a method of preparing same for operational use in which the cutting edges (6E, 7E, 8E, ...), of the tool/blade effectively form successive groups of cutting edges, each group including a predetermined number of cutting edges, and in which the kerf widths and/or heights of such successive teeth within a group vary according to a predetermined pattern of width variation.
