The invention relates to a device for detecting torque acting upon a shaft, whereby two parts connected to the shaft are scanned by a single sensor. Said parts are fixed to the shaft at a distance (L) from each other and are embodied in such a way that the angle marks located on the surface thereof can be scanned by the single sensor. A square signal or a digital signal is formed from the output signal delivered by the sensor. The ratio of the pulse length (High) to the overall pulse length (Low + High) (i.e. the duty cycle) is compared with the duty cycle for an unloaded shaft. Modification of the duty-cycle in contrast to the unloaded shaft is proportional to torque and is evaluated in order to determine torque. The device for measuring torque can also be used to detect rotational speed. |
