<p>The present invention relates to an instrument for the separation of organs, tissues and/or viscera during surgical operations in order to facilitate the retraction and exposure of surgical areas. Said separator instrument has an elongate rod with a proximal extremity and a distal extremity as well as separation means. Said separation means include means to establish a continuous separation surface of variable dimensions as well as means to modify the configuration of the separation means from a first configuration wherein the continuous separation surface is folded and has appropriate dimensions in order to enable its insertion through an orifice in the body to a second configuration wherein the continuous separation surface is unfolded; said continuous separation surface is thermoresistant and electro-insulating; the separation means also include means intended to provide the continuous separation surface with a certain rigidity.</p> |
