The shaped sound insulating element with a metal carrier element (1) and a thermoplastic airborne sound absorber element (2) is coated only within the weld zones (4) with an adhesion agent (3) formed by a copolymerizate on the basis of polyamide. The carrier element and the sound absorber element are joined to one another by at least one welded joint produced by means of the adhesion agent. Welding takes place through melting of the adhesion agent.
