The hearing aid has an acousto-electric transducer (11) providing an analogue tone signal fed to an A/D converter (12), followed by a tone signal processor (13), for selective compression/expansion of the tone signal components to obtain coincidence of the wavefronts, for adjustment of the phase/frequency characteristic in dependence on the measured amplitude/frequency characteristic of the hearing aid user. The output signal from the tone signal processor is fed via a D/A converter (14) to an electro-acoustic transducer (16). An Independent claim for a frequency characteristic adjustment method for a hearing aid is also included.
