A tool, for providing electrical connection contacts on semiconductor devices or for forming electrical circuit connections in hybrid circuits, comprises a metal, hard metal or hard material rod which is clamped in a holder and which is used to press a contact- or connection-forming wire onto a contact point of the device or circuit where it is subsequently welded.
