The Building block command and protection construction has a base (A) with moving contacts (22a), an electromagnetic block (E) and an upper command block (C) forming a complete unit. The command block has external feed wires (46,47). There are interconnecting command connections (L2) between the command block and the electromagnetic block. In the case where there is no connection between the two blocks, a signal prevents the coil feed from operating, and thus the switch from closing. The switch is activated by a surge of current or by a command signal.
