The invention relates to an electronic device comprising: a first module and a second module which is similar to said first module; a bi-directional line connecting said first and second module and coupled to a voltage source; a first and a second device used to make test data available, connected each to a respective module; a first and a second device for fixing the loop level, allocated each to a respective module, connected to the loop by means of an interface and designed in such a way that in response to a signal produced by the device used to make test data available, said loop is grounded or disconnected from ground; a first and a second device for detecting the loop level, each associated with a respective module and connected to the loop by means of said interface; and a first and a second evaluation device each associated to a respective module and designed in such a way that a faulty signal matching of the first and second devices used to make test data available is detected.
