Grinding unmatted grain for use in brewing beer

Grinding grain, especially barley and wheat, for prodn. of beer in breweries, by (a) steeping the optionally pretreated, but still granular grain with a part of the amount of malt to be used, (b) comminuting the mixture on a wet mill in a similar manner to the treatment of malt, and (c) processing to mark by intensively boiling, after a suitable rest period.
