Solution relates to preparation of D-hamamelosa (2-Chydroxymethyl-D-ribbose) by isomeric reaction catalyzed by molybdenane ions from D-fructose. D-fructose in 0.1 to 0.4 % aqueous solution of molybdnenic acid in the temperature 70 to 90 C, during 1 to 15 hours isomers till arising balanced mixture D-fructose : D-hamamelosa : D-sorbose is approx. 60 : 3 : 4. From this reaction mixture the D-hamamelose is separated so that by yeasting the solution by baker's yeast (Sacharomyces cerevisiae) is first removed non-reacted D-fructose and then are D-hammamelose and D-sorbose isolated by simple chromatographic division on the column of strongly acid catex in baric form by elution of water. This solution is compared to the known methods for preparation more advantageous, because it does not require demanding device, materially and energetically is less requiring and the initial raw D-fructose is easily available. It can be used in production of rare saccharides necessary in medicine, pharmacology, bio-chemistry, etc.
