In an improvement of the invention claimed in Specification 1,169,474, a release baulk lever 14is pivotally mounted on the H-shaped gate 10 and is spring biased towards a position in which it extends across the portion 13 of the gate which connects the PARK and RELEASE guides. Movement of the control lever (not shown) across the gate from the PARK guide displaces the baulk lever 14 to a position A where it blocks movement of the control lever to the release position until the control lever has been moved along the RELEASE guide in the opposire direction to that required to release the parking brake. Movement of the control lever across the RELEASE guide to the PARK guide displaces the baulk lever to a position B in which it permits free entry of the control lever to the PARK guide. |
