The procedure consists of attaching the fixing screws (2) to the lock striker plate (1a) with a card or plastic layer (3) to hold them together as a subassembly prior to fitting to the vehicle. The card or plastic layer is between 0.1 and 1 mm thick; it has good slip properties and can be a thermoplastic elastomer.
