<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformize image quality and to prevent disturbance in an image by correcting pull-down information. SOLUTION: An inverse telecine circuit 1 applies inverse telecine processing to a video signal based on an output of a 3:2 pull-down detection circuit 2 at first. A video compression circuit 4 compresses the video signal after inverse telecine processing. The 3:2 pull-down information generating circuit 5 detects pull-down information by a flag detected from a video stream and a 3:2 pull- down information correction circuit 6 corrects pull-down information by taking continuity of a telecine pattern into account. The pull-down information is stored in a memory 7 and the inverse telecine processing and coding processing are conducted again based on the pull-down information. Thus, disturbance of a decoded image of a video stream is prevented.</p> |
