PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cool a bearing directly in the area close to the bearings, to lengthen the life of the whole X-ray tube. SOLUTION: This X-ray tube comprises a bulb container 16 forming a hollow chamber 29 wherein an anode 20 is rotationally attached to a bearing 44 to interact with a cathode body 22. The bearing 44 comprises a bearing housing and plural bearings arranged on the external surface of the bearing housing. A cooling channel is formed in the bearing 22, to guide a cooling fluid such as oil across the internal surface of the bearing housing. When the cooling fluid flows near the internal surface of the bearing housing, the heat from the bearing housing is absorbed into the cooling fluid, which reduces the heat moving to the bearings.
