PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change flexibly an information storage area to be secured by optionally allocating an area for recording main information on a recording medium and changing the area allocated with an area allocation means based on related information when the related information is changed before starting to record. SOLUTION: A data related information analyzing part 13 analyzes program- related information, and a recording control part 14 issues the program identification data to the reserved program. The recording control part 14 compares the capacity of the area required for recording the program information shown by the program identification data with the capacity of the continuous or dispersed recording area on the recording medium existing in a data recording part 15 then to judge whether or not it is recordable. When a recordable, the recording control part 14 answers that effect to an interface part 17, and secures the area for recording the program in the continuous or dispersed recording area on one or plural recording media existing in the data recording part 15. When the recording are aren't secured, the recording control part 14 answers the recording is impossible.
