PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized and light variable wavelength optical filter device continuously changing a transmission peak wavelength over a wide range of a wave length band. SOLUTION: A transparent, thin and flexible variable wavelength optical filter tape 2 continuously changing the transmission peak wavelength in the Longitudinal direction is beforehand wound around drums 8a, 8b of a take-up mechanism 8. When luminous flux 7 propagated through an optical fiber 3 and outgoing from a collimator 4 is made incident on the variable wavelength optical filter tape 2, only a light component of a specified wavelength matched with a transmission wavelength band of a filter surface is transmitted, and is made incident on the collimator 6 to be coupled with the optical fiber 5. When the drums 8a, 8b are rotated, and the variable wavelength optical filter tape 2 is moved, a transmitting wavelength component is changed. |
