PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an offset QPSK communication system capable of providing a satisfactory bit error rate(BER) by enabling satisfactory communication even under phasing. SOLUTION: A pilot symbol(PS) inserted in a frame by a modulator is guided through a switch 116 to a phasing distortion estimating part 117 after frame synchronization is detected by a synchronizing detecting part 115 of a receiver. At the distortion estimating part, a distortion vector is estimated based on a received vector and a PS vector, and based on this estimated distortion vector, at a phasing distortion compensating part 118, the influence of phasing upon a data symbol is compensated. The data symbol, for which the influence of phasing is compensated, is decoded by a decoder 119.
