PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the wiping performance of wipers without degrading windshield visibility. SOLUTION: A control unit 34 controls the wiping region of wiper arms 12 and 14 of a wiper device 10 depending on a wiper wiping speed selected by a wiper control switch 52. When the wiping speed of the wiper arms 12 and 14 is set by the wiper control switch 52 at 'EXT HI', the wiping region of them are narrowed to the driver's seat side. When the wiping speed is other than 'EXT HI', the wiping region of the wiper arms 12 and 14 are not narrowed.
