PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a light source device for a multi-beam optical scanner in which the deviation and the inclination of the adhering position of a beam synthesizing means are prevented, and by which a good quality image can be formed. SOLUTION: This device has plural semiconductor lasers 101 and 102, coupling lenses 103 and 104 which correspond with the respective semiconductor lasers and which couple a beam from the corresponding semiconductor laser to successive optical system, a beam synthesizing means 1050 synthesizing plural laser beams passing through the respective coupling lenses and emitting the beams at a specified pitch between mutual beams, and a holding member adjusting the positions of the lasers 101 and 102, the lenses 103 and 104, and the means 1050 and integrally holding them; the positioning parts 5, 6, and 7 of the means 1050 are provided on the holding member and also the means 1050 adheres to the holding member.
