PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming an image that uses an intermediate transfer medium capable of eliminating conveyance trouble such as creasing or jamming and of preventing a defective image and shifting of the image. SOLUTION: There is disclosed an image transfer device wherein a pair of first drive rollers 1, 1, a pair of thermal laminating rollers 2, 2 and a pair of second drive rollers 3, 3 are disposed in a horizontal fashion in the above order and a path for conveying to feed a final image carrier medium 5 and an intermediate transfer medium 6 which are opposed with each other and a path for conveying to discharge them are identical. A thickness of a support body of the intermediate transfer medium which is in a shape of a roll is in a range of 50-200 μm and a surface roughness Rz of the intermediate transfer medium at the rear side of the surface to be contacted to the final image carrier medium is in a range of 1-30 μm. The intermediate transfer medium is cut out to be used. A height of an edge projection at the side to be contacted to the final image carrier medium is not greater than 20 μm and a height of an edge projection at the rear side thereof is not greater than 25 μm. |
