PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely obtain a predetermined interval between sheets when sheets are fed continuously in a sheet material feeding device having two separation means. SOLUTION: A sheet material feeding device 200 feeds sheet materials S loaded in a paper feeding cassette 201 sequentially starting from an uppermost sheet material by a paper feeding roller 202. The sheet materials S fed by the paper feeding roller 202 are separated into one uppermost sheet material by a separation claw 203 to feed it. Moreover, when they are not separated by the separation claw 203, they are separated into one uppermost sheet material by a pair of separation rollers 204 to feed it. Paper feeding is done at fixed paper feeding timing, and information of a sheet material detection sensor 216 is read before a predetermined time when the next paper feeding timing comes. Paper feeding is continued at predetermined paper feeding timing in the case of the information indicating that there is no sheet material, and paper feeding timing at the time is delayed from the predetermined paper feeding timing by a predetermined time in the case of the information indicating that there is sheet material. |
