PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing to provide apparently improved characteristics in relation to wear resistance of a slide layer against a slide layer formed by plating and a slide layer formed by a conventional electron beam deposition method. SOLUTION: In a sliding bearing comprising a support body; and at least one metallic slide layer formed through an electron beam deposition method, a circular protrusion 4 and a dent 6 are formed on and in the surface of a slide layer 3 and, in a horizontal cut plane 7, the protrusion accounts for 30-50% of the whole area of the sliding bearing. The cut plane 7 is positioned in height at which a total of an area ratio ensured by the vertical section of the protrusion is equal to the corresponding area ratio of the dent. In a plane, the circular protrusion has a diameter of 3-8 μm. This value is related to the maximum diameter of non-circular protrusion and dent in a plane and the surface has coarseness of RZ=3-7 μm. |
