PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power receiver that efficiently detects signal currents flowing across rails under no influence of electric railcar line currents and that can be reduced in size and cost. SOLUTION: A leading railcar is mounted on its first axle 3 with a substantially cylindrical coil 1a extending longitudinally to encircle the first axle 3, so that signal currents flowing across rails 51 and 52 via the first axle 3 are detected efficiently. The current detection is insusceptible of electric railcar line currents flowing from a line above the railcar to the rails 51 and 52 via the railcar, to thereby dispense with any equipment that counters interference currents caused by electric railcar line currents and reduce the device size and cost.
