PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a programmable controller which speeds up switching from a Boolean CPU to a general CPU and allows the general CPU to accept an interruption function and a DMA function without any time loss. SOLUTION: The Boolean CPU 2 decodes addresses where a process program of process instructions of the general CPU from a sequence program read out of a program memory 3 and outputs them to an instruction vector register IV. A control register CTRL performs switching so that the output of a multiplexer 21 is to be the address where the corresponding instruction process program of the general CPU is stored when the decoding result of the program is an application instruction and an address that the general CPU reads is to be the address of an instruction itself that the general CPU reads when the result is a basic process instruction.
