PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control fleas by applying an arylpyrazole to an object having the fleas, and clean the hair and the skin of an animal which may have the fleas, without resisting to an insecticide of lindane or dieldrin. SOLUTION: 1-Arylpyrazole of the formula R1 is CN or methyl; R2 is S (O)nR3 [R3 is a (halo)alkyl]; R4 is H, a halogen, NR5R6 [R5 and R6 are each H, a (halo)alkyl or the like] or the like; X is N or CR12; R11 and R12 are each a halogen or H; (n) is 0-2} is applied on an object such as a dog and a cat having fleas.
