PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively suppress the granulation of an image and to emphasize the sharpness by mixing a signal obtd. by applying a sharpness emphasizing process with a signal obtd. by applying a morphology filter process to a specific image signal while varying the mixing ratio according to the detected result of an edge part. SOLUTION: An original image signal f0 is outputted as an output signal f1 after a sharpness emphasizing means 72 performs a sharpness emphasizing process for emphasizing the edge part and also as an output signal f2 after a morphology filter process part 74 performs the process for suppressing the granulation of a flat part. Those output signals f1 and f2 are so weighted as to have a specific mixing ratio, added, and outputted as a processed signal fout by a mixing means 78. At this time, the weight W is determined by a look-up table LUT 80 based on the output signal of an edge detecting means 76. Here, the look-up table LUT 80 is switched by a specific condition. |
