SWITCH MATRIX BETWEEN TERMINAL STATIONS OF COMMUNICATION NETWORK AND ITS MANAGEMENT METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switch matrix between terminal stations of a communication network that is operated with respect to a data flow configured according to an SDH protocol. SOLUTION: This switch matrix includes a set of parallel branches. Each branch has a space stage that selects and packs at least a subset of data to be exchanged from an input data flow and a 2nd time stage including a random access memory device relating to a write memory and read memory that store sub sets of exchanged data and driven by a microprocessor and a main counter. The read memory and the write memory of each random access memory device are updated respectively in relation to a spare read memory in common to read memories of all parallel branches and a spare write memory in common to write memories of all parallel branches.
