PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rubber composition for a tire tread showing a high frictional force on ice and to provide a pneumatic tire. SOLUTION: This pneumatic tire has a tread part consisting of a rubber composition obtained by blending a gas-sealed thermoplastic resin, short fibers, hard particles and/or a liquid polymer, in which the gas-sealed thermoplastic resin is an elastic gas-sealed thermoplastic resin having 5-300μm mean particle diameter, the short fiber is oriented substantially along the block surface and side surfaces of the tread part 13 and/or the hard particles are uniformly and three-dimensionally dispersed in the tread part.
