PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a free shelf which can prevent side sway caused by a backlash between a support and a shelf board and accordingly can make a weight mass or an unstable matter stably laid thereon. SOLUTION: A shelf board 2 is fixed to a plurality of supports 3 by fitting members at arbitrary height. Through holes into which the support 3 is inserted are formed in the shelf board 2. A fitting member is constituted of an inner tube 9 which is mounted on the support 3 immovable in the axial direction and on whose outer periphery face a male taper part 9a is formed and an outer tube 5 with a fitting hole 5a on which a female taper face corresponding to the male taper part 9a of the inner tube 9 is formed.
