PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording sheet with an ink receptive layer which is free from ink oozing and shows an image printed with uniform density and clarity and further shows superior water resistance, weatherability and color fading properties and besides, makes a printed matter with sufficient strength. SOLUTION: This recording sheet with an ink receptive layer has an ink receptive layer containing oxide particles formed on a base sheet. In addition, a cationic hydrated metallic compound is borne on the surface of the oxide particles and the zeta potential of the oxide particles is positive and also is below 60 mV.
