PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image receiving sheet for ink jet recording which has an inorganic fine particle layer formed on a resin layer made of a pulverized coating composition and which is capable of forming a high density image as well as a method for manufacturing the image receiving sheet for ink jet recording. SOLUTION: The image receiving sheet for ink jet recording has an inorganic fine particle layer with 1-50 nm average particle dia. formed on a resin layer with 1-100 μm thickness which is composed of pulverized coating composition particles with 0.1-30 μm containing a resin and pigment, and preferably has voids among the pulverized coating composition particles of the resin layer consisting of these particles. The method for manufacturing the image receiving sheet preferably includes a step to dry-coat the pulverized coating composition particles with 0.1-30 μm average particle dia. which contains the resin and the pigment and form the resin layer, a step to form the layer composed of the inorganic fine particles with 1-50 nm average particle dia. on the resin layer, a step to fix the resin layer on a base and a step to fix the layer composed of the inorganic fine particles on the resin layer. |
