PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for optimizing the use of encoder information for controlling motor speed. SOLUTION: Motor speed control method/device have an encoder which is mechanically associated with a motor. The encoder is provided with two channels and it supplies an encoder signal, having ascending state shift SR and descending state shift SF in respective periods. The periodical frequency of state shifts SR and SF is used for minutely measuring the instantaneous speed of the motor. A comparator compares periodical frequency with prescribed motor speed and supplies an error signal showing a difference. A feedback control system operates on motor speed, based on the error signal. |
