PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of processing a picture re-drawing at high speed even when a picture re-plotting region occupies the majority of a display screen area at the time of composing pictures in the display device for composing and displaying plural video signals. SOLUTION: Only a boundary pixel data of a picture re-plotting region is re-written into a predetermined data as start and end of composition. The predetermined data is detected by a picture switching data detector 137, and a composition start detection signal 138 or a composition end detection signal 139 is outputted to a display picture selection circuit 131A based on the detection result. Here, the display picture selection circuit 131A generates a selection signal 135 for switching the video signal from the inputted detection signal 138 and the detection signal 139. A high-speed picture plotting processing becomes possible by this picture composition technique.
