PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a retrieval system by which a register address can be retrieved at high speed and with good efficiency while a conventional program structure in application software is being held. SOLUTION: In a register-information retrieval means 4 (an address retrieval means), a register name is input from an input device 1, register information which is stored in a register-information retrieval table 7 is retrieved on the basis of the function of a register reflected in the register name, and a register address is output. A subaddress creation means 5 (an address expansion means) creates a subaddress on the basis of the attribute of the function of the register reflected in the register name, and it expands the register address. Consequently, the attribute of the function of the register is not the object of a retrieval and the retrieval is performed only on the basis of the function of the register.
