PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a producing method of a silver halide emulsion and a silver halide photographic sensitive material having excellent stability of a latent image and excellent quality of characters by laser scanning exposure. SOLUTION: This silver halide photographic photosensitive material contains a silver halide emulsion having >=90% silver chloride content in at least one layer. This silver halide photographic sensitive material is scanned and exposed with laser light to obtain a magenta color development image and the microdensitometer measurement curve of the obtd. magenta color development image shows >=1.2 and <=3 a ratio of the under foot width to the half-value- width. The producing method of the silver halide emulsion includes the following process. A process between after silver halide particles having >=90% silver chloride content are formed and before an applying process, includes a process that the silver halide fine particles are formed in a mixing container provided in the outside of a reaction container where the silver halide particles are sensitized and immediately after the silver halide fine particles are formed, the fine particles are mixed with the emulsion containing silver halide particles having >=90% silver chloride content.
