PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal generator which can reduce the number of input terminals required at a time when an internal circuit is operated in an operating mode which is different from that in an ordinary operation. SOLUTION: A counter 2 as a first means by which counter outputs 11, 21 are generated by an input from an oscillator input terminal 1 so as to be output is provided. Selectors 12, 22 as second means by which signals to be input from input terminals 10, 20 and the counter outputs 11, 21 to be output from the counter 2 are changed over according to an ordinary operating mode and a test operating mode so as to be output to output terminals 13, 23 are provided. At this time, in the test operating mode, the counter outputs 11, 21 which are used for a test operation are generated from an oscillator signal which is input from the oscillation signal terminal 1, and they are output to an internal circuit at a later stage from the output terminals 13, 23.
