PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a toner from scattering in a transfer process. SOLUTION: In this image forming method, before the transfer process for transferring a toner image on an image carrier 1 to a transfer body 2, an electrostatic latent image corresponding to the toner image is formed on the transfer body 2, and then the toner image on the image carrier 1 is transferred to the transfer body 2 corresponding to the electrostatic latent image on the transfer body 2. In this case, the toner image on the image carrier 1 is transferred to the transfer body 2 by applying an AC voltage to the transfer body 2.
