PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery having high capacity and excellent high-rate discharge characteristics. SOLUTION: In a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery having a positive electrode using a lithium containing transition metal chalcogenite as an active material, a negative electrode and an organic solvent electrolyte, a mixture of scale-like graphitized carbon of which average interlayer distance d002 is not more than 3.37 Å and average particle diameter is not less than 10 μm, and low crystallization carbon of which interlayer distance d002 is not less than 3.37 Å, average particle diameter is not less than 20 μm and H/C is not more than 0.05 is used for its negative electrode active material, and the percentage content of the low crystallization carbon in the mixture of the graphitized carbon and the low crystallization carbon is 7-25 wt.%. |
