<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information terminal capable of confirming the number of items of received electronic mails without confirming the presence/absence of the rereception of an electronic mail information and without viewing the screen of a portable terminal by informing a user of the number of items of the received mails by means of voice. SOLUTION: A user of a portable information terminal 2 having a communicating means 3 activates the communication means, then accesses a host 1 through a communication line 4 and starts to receive an electronic mail for the purpose of receiving the electronic mail under the control of a portable information terminal control part 7. The terminal 2 finishes the activation of communicating means after receiving all of the electronic mails to the user himself. After that, the number of items of received electronic mails to himself is counted with the activation end of the communicating means as a trigger, and a speaker 5 is activated to inform the user of the number of items of the received mails by means of voice, thus the acquisition of the electronic mail is ended.</p> |
