摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of shorting by high with standing voltage and hard surface and to improve a contrast by a high dielectric constant by using a shorting preventive film consisting of an oxidized metallic film formed by anodic oxidation. SOLUTION: The surface of a substrate 1 on the side having thin-film transistors(TFTs) is provided with a ground surface film 2, the TFTs 3, an interlayer insulating film 4, pixel electrodes 5 and other electrodes. The surface of a substrate 6 as an opposite substrate has a ground surface film 7, a counter electrode 8, the shorting preventive film 9 and black matrices 10 and further an alignment layer 11. A liquid crystal material 12 is held between both substrates. In such a case, the anodic oxidation is executed with the counter electrode 8 as anodes, by which aluminum oxide is formed. A photoresist is then peeled and the anodic oxidation is again executed. Black matrices 10 not having translucency may be formed in the aluminum portions which are not oxidized. All the portions exclusive thereof are the aluminum oxide having translucency and insulation characteristic. The shorting preventive film 9 is thus formed.</p>
